Wow awsome, thanks James, it’s very cool of you.
I will give your code a try.
Hope your code would be intergated in futur version of Piklist 🙂November 17, 2012 at 5:40 am in reply to: Suggestion: Be able to add metaboxes field to a specific page #424
Thanks Steve for this improvement.
In this thread, we spoke about the possibility to use the Template Page. Do you plan to implement this feature in the next Piklist update ?
This is a very simplified version of my plugin.
Empty Data base
No other plugin activated apart from Piklist plugin.
This is a simple plugin to use with 2010 theme of WP for example.
This plugin just creates two CPTs (CPT1 and CPT2) and two Pages.
When you activate this plugin, you must see this Notice:
Notice: Undefined index: cpt2 in xxx/www/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/piklist/includes/class-piklist-cpt.php on line 122
I hope this code could help you.
Ok I will come back with more code. I will try to reproduce the problem with a simplified version of my plugin. May be tomorrow otherwise in a week.
This is my code. These pieces of code are used in two different Classes. I just paste the CPT registration function.
Thank you @Steve, ICON_URL seems to be what I need for my icon menu.
I think I was wrong, this is not a Piklist bug but just how WordPress Works.
If somebody know how to achieve this, I’m interesting 🙂October 16, 2012 at 9:57 am in reply to: Suggestion: Be able to add metaboxes field to a specific page #295
And instead of target an ID or a Slug in the file comment section, why not target a custom template ?
Title: My Meta Box
Post Type: page
I set specific metaboxes for a custom template (custom template label not change) and then when I create a page (manualy or by code) I can choose the right template (manualy or by code) to set my specific metaboxes to my pages.October 16, 2012 at 3:05 am in reply to: Suggestion: Be able to add metaboxes field to a specific page #290
I’m agree with you, Slug can change but using the ID implie to know the ID in advance, right ?
Now imagine this situation:
When I activate my theme, I decide to automaticly create a new page. When I code this creation, I can decide the Slug but not the ID.
If I want to set some specific metaboxes for this new page (at the same time, during the theme activation), how can I know wich ID indicate in the file comment section ?
Yes i’m agree with @pdwouters, furthermore Github provides a RSS feed and it’s very handy to follow the commits so the diffrent new features.
Are you planning to put the piklist code to Github ?
Thank you Steve for your answer.
English is not my native language so I probably wasn’t be clear in my first expectation.
I think it’s very hepful to be able to re-order Custom Post Type in the backend.
Plugins like “Simple page ordering” http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-page-ordering/ do that but the solution is not perfect yet. It could be nice to have the same thing in Picklist.
Point 2 you said: “Field groups for CPT’s are standard meta boxes and are drag-n-drop.” In your démo, when I use add_more button to duplicate a Field group, I can’t, for example, drag and drop the last field group to put it above the first one. Do I miss something ?
Look at this picture to see what I mean, this picture speak better than my English 😉
